Best of Hiroshi Nagai A collection of self-recommended best works by Hiroshi Nagai that was released in 2023 and immediately sold out. It will be re-released this spring with [enlarged x paper cloth binding] specifications including new items. Hiroshi Nagai is a popular illustrator who has been active since the 1970s on numerous record jackets and advertisements, including the jacket work for the timeless masterpiece "A LONG VACATION" (Eiichi Otaki) that continues to be loved by many people. Speaking of Hiroshi Nagai, his unique style is a mixture of surrealism and pop art. When I visited Guam and California with my friends, I encountered scenes such as palm trees, blue skies, and greenery reflecting in the light, and decided the direction of the illustrations I would draw. I think there are many people who feel nostalgic about the scenery that never existed. Nagai was originally interested in art. Since he began his career as an illustrator in 1976, he has continued to draw what he loves and has maintained a consistent style over time. His visuals have become a driving force behind the culture of "CITY POP" and have become "universal." It has become a "target" presence. As of 2024, he is still busy with offers from leading companies both domestically and internationally, and with respect from many artists across generations. This book is an expanded and revised edition of ``THE JOURNEY BEGINS,'' the first collection of self-recommended works published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name held at Ginza Tsutaya Shoten from the end of 2022 to the beginning of 2023. From the early works that shaped Hiroshi Nagai to his recent paintings, record jackets selected by Nagai himself include poolside, cars, people, night views, waves, buildings, and his signature palm trees swaying in the wind. We have included only works that everyone has seen at least once in magazines, advertisements, etc.
