In writing The Vain Man, one of the characters in this book, the author anticipated the attempt to turn the democracy of the United States into a tyranny by a power-addicted psychopath; he also narrated what is going to happen next.

Another story explores the experiences that led to the rise of the great religions in history, and envisions what a new prophet with global influence emerging in the 21st century would be like.

The remaining narratives tell what will happen when artificial intelligence gains consciousness; how Athens, the world’s first democracy, confronted the greatest superpower that had ever existed and what the key figures of the time did; and how the most intelligent person in history proposes solutions to the decline of our political system.

Faces of the Extraordinary are narratives about five types of individuals key to understanding essential aspects of power, history and society, which dismantle the conventions and clichés on which many of our beliefs are based, seek a greater understanding of who we are and how we have reached the point where we find ourselves, and describe the individual capacity to change the world.
